Belly button drama, please help!?

I've had my belly button pierced for a few months now, but now it's starting to swell up a bit and it's dark around the hold areas and it's started to bleed. I was just wondering what to put on it, or if I should get it checked? Also how long do you have to wait to put in a gold belly ring? I personally think my problem is I am allergic to most metals other than gold, so I'm hoping to put my gold one in ASAP, if that's the problem.
